2433 (Thanet) Squadron - Royal Air Force Air Cadets

WHAT WE DO

Are you up for fun, adventure, incredible experiences and making new friends?  Are you looking for something to give you the edge in life?  Then welcome to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.  Better known as the 'Air Cadets', we're a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40000 members aged between 12 to 20 years of age.

We're sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.  HRH The Duchess of Cambridge is our Honorary Air Commandant.

Our aims are:

  • Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force

  • Provide training which will be useful in the services and civilian life

  • Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop good qualities of leadership and good citizenship

And there's one more important thing - it's a whole of fun!

Ready for a Challenge?

Joining the RAF Air Cadets you'll have the opportunity to do things that others only dream about.  Whether it's flying or gliding, adventurous training camps, competitive sports, drill, shooting, music, abseiling, archery, engineering projects or the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, our list of activities is long, varied and open to every cadet.

As an adult volunteer, you'll help to plan and deliver the activities as well as getting involved yourself.  The satisfaction of knowing that you and your cadets learning, developing and succeeding is a great feeling.
